The Texas Mining and Reclamation Association (TMRA) is working to solidify the needs and opinions of the various mining sectors into one voice which can be heard on the vital matters of balance between mineral production, environmental protection, economic strength and public welfare.
To make this voice effective, TMRA will present the mining industry -- and its value to the Texas economy and lifestyle - to the public, educators and students, regulatory officials, legislators and to the media to enhance their understanding.
TMRA will promote the active participation of its members in association affairs and strive for integrity, clarity and vision throughout all its operations and activities.
Texas contains an abundance
of natural resources that are economically important to the state.
The brick, stone and mortar that provide us homes and buildings where we live and do our work;
Crushed stone, sands, gravels and cement for the highways, bridges, and airports that provide us with our means of transportation and the industrial projects that purify our water; and produce products that we use everyday
Coal and uranium that generates our electricity to provide our energy and creature comforts;
The metals used in virtually all parts of our computers and electronic devices.
All come from mining.
