Shannon S. Lucas
Shannon Sneary Lucas has served as the Executive Director of the Texas Mining and Reclamation Association (TMRA) since September, 2008. TMRA is a non-profit industry trade
association which represents approximately 100 member companies and individuals who are involved and interested in Texas mining and reclamation of clay, lignite (coal), sand, rock and gravel, and uranium.
Shannon is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where in 2000 she received a BS in Agricultural Development with an emphasis in Political Science, and an MBA in 2004. Shannon is also a 2008 graduate of the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership Program (TALL).
While attending Texas A&M, Shannon interned in the Washington, D.C. office of then Texas Congressman Charlie Stenholm. Post graduation, she spent three sessions working in the Texas House of Representatives. Initially serving as the Committee Clerk and later as Budget Analyst for the Committee on Appropriations, she moved on to serve as the Committee Clerk for the Committee on Agriculture & Livestock before becoming the Committee Clerk for the Committee on Energy Resources.
Shannon resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband, Jim Lucas and is active in community service projects through the Junior League of Austin. The couple also remains active in Shannon’s family cattle operation in Matagorda County, Texas.
